There weren't that much races lately, so I can keep it short.
One remarkable event was the great victory of Grace Verbeke in the Tour of Flanders. A moment not to forget !
I had the feeling that after this victory, there was some more attention to women cycling. I hope Grace can continue her succes, so the attention stays.
Her picture, I shot in studio earlier, is asked for. Don't know where it will be published, but it will certainly be used for some advertising.

Ready for the 1st kermiskoers of the year. Wanze was the place to be for the first edition of 'La Flèche Wanzoise' : about 85 km with a lot of descent, flat and 1 long climb (to the finish line)
But what a temp !!!! It was almost freezing (they even had melting snow that morning)
Unless my frozen toes, it was nice being there.
A great demonstration of Emma Johansson (Red Sun CT), who took off just before half-race and got more than 3' at the finish!
And behind the winner, we had Martine Bras (hope you get a 1st place soon!)
Guess there's nothing more to tell about that race ....

This saturday (february 27th), Belgium got the opener with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. A race from Ghent to Ghent, with some cobbles and hills in between ...
Well, it was a bit cold, there was some (strong) wind, but was sun too !!! 
Following the race was stressy as usual. Trying to get everywhere; looking at the clock while driving too slow to get to another spot on time ....
And finally, we got a deserved winner : Emma Johansson from the Red Sun Cycling Team (though my fingers were crossed for Grace Verbeke, who took 3rd place).

Wielrennen / CyclingPosted by Krist Sun, June 07, 2009 09:26:59Voor het eerst wordt voor de Wielertrofee Vlaanderen een individuele tijdrit georganiseerd. Plaats van het gebeuren : het circuit Terlaemen in Zolder.
Jammer genoeg zijn er voor dit evenement zéér weinig inschrijvingen.
Blijkbaar speelden het late uur, de verre verplaatsing en het ontbreken van een bijkomende koers de meeste rensters parten.
Die dag was slaagde ik er nog in een beginnersfout te maken. De batterij van mijn Canon lag thuis nog op te laden ... Gelukkig had ik mijn Olympus ook mee.
For the first time Wielertrofee Vlaanderen organised an individual time trial. Place to be : the racing track Terlaemen at Zolder.
Unfortunately only few competed in this event.
The late hour, the long distance to the event and lacking an extra race were for most riders reason not to come.
That day I succeeded in making a rooky-error. The battery of my Canon was still charging at home ... Luckily I had my Olympus with.
Wielrennen / CyclingPosted by Krist Sun, June 07, 2009 08:13:01In de weken voor het Belgisch Kampioenschap blijkt dat de dames van Topsport Vlaanderen-Thompson goed klaargestoomd zijn om de titel te grijpen (overwinningen voor Jolien D'Hoore en Kelly Druyts).
The weeks before the Belgian Championships it seems the ladies of Vlaanderen Topsport-Thompson are well prepared to grab for the title (victories for Jolien D'Hoore and Kelly Druyts).
Atletiek / AthleticsPosted by Krist Fri, May 22, 2009 00:45:02Afgelopen zaterdag nog eens (sinds lange tijd) een atletiekwedstrijd bijgewoond. In Vorst (Brussel) vond de Interclub voor Dames Divisie 2 plaats.
Bij het bekijken van de beelden, vind ik dat enkel de foto van Olivia Borlée waardig is om te tonen ... Maar toch maakte ik een album op pbase :

Last saturday I've visited (since a long time) an athletics contest. In Forest (Brussels) the interclub for Ladies 2nd Division took place.
